The Yankees need a win tonight. BUT, they are currently down 6-1 in the top of the 6th inning. So, put your rally caps on and root for the Yanks!
On this day in 1956, Don Larsen, a New York Yankee, pitched the only perfect game in the history of the World Series. Larsen was pitching against the Dodgers in Game 5 of the 1956 World Series. He threw only 97 pitches and the Yankees beat the Dodgers 2-0. In the post-season, this feat had never happened before, nor has it happened since. GO YANKEES!
In other baseball news, the Colorado Rockies swept the Phillies and are headed to the NLCS against the Diamondbacks. This is the first time in franchise history that the Rockies have made it this far. I’m cheering for them to win and go to the World Series. How cool would that be? The only thing that would make it cooler - if my boyfriend Derek Jeter came to visit me because the Yankees were in town to face the Rocks for the Fall Classic. Oh, did I say that? Go Yanks!
